OUR STORY

Bacchus has been pouring drinks on La Motte Street for as long as anyone cares to remember, and it shows in the best possible way. A glass of something cold, the game on the screens, the terrace doors flung open when the weather plays ball, a familiar face behind the bar and the kind of welcome that makes the place feel like an extension of your front room. We sit just off the main drag, far enough from the rush of town to feel relaxed but close enough that you've never got far to walk to find us. Whether you're popping in for a coffee on the way past, settling in for the afternoon football, or rounding up a few of the gang for the start of a longer evening, there's a spot here with your name on it.
The image shows a modern bar with a dark wooden floor, featuring two green armchairs and a wooden bar. A large TV screen displays a rugby match between the London Football Club and the Manchester United, with the club's logo on the wall. A black and white "LIVERMAN" sign is on the right wall, and a "LIVERMAN" sign is on the left wall. The bar is well-lit and has a modern design, creating a comfortable and social atmosphere.

Watch the Match With Us

Live SPORT

Screens around the bar, multiple matches running at once, and the kind of crowd that turns up early and stays later than they meant to. Premier League weekends, midweek European nights, the Six Nations, the cup runs and the heavyweight fight cards. Football, rugby, the obvious headline games and the in-between fixtures that quietly make for the best afternoons of the season. We've got the screens positioned so wherever you end up sitting, you've got a clear line of sight, and the team know which feed to put the sound on when more than one game is running. If it's on somewhere this weekend, the odds are good it's on at Bacchus too.
The Boat House waterfront dining

Your party, Your local.

A fully private event space that seats forty or stands a hundred, separate from the main pub so your group has its own room and its own atmosphere from the moment they walk in. Birthdays, corporate nights, wakes, stag and hen dos, team socials and leaving drinks all handled, whether you want the full private hire for an exclusive night or just a reserved area in the main bar for something looser. Drinks packages can be put together to match the budget. Live music can often be arranged for the occasion. The team know how to run a full room without rushing it, and how to read what the night needs. Tell us the occasion and we'll take it from there.
